Arts-based Scholarships

Award: $500 (1 recipient)

Criteria:

  • 2nd year student
  • Pursuing an associate of arts or associate of science degree
  • Transferring to a four-year college or university

Automotive Technology Scholarships

Award: $500.00 (1 recipient)

Criteria:

  • Matriculated into the Automotive program
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 for 2nd year or B average from high school transcript for 1st year
  • Full time

Award: Annual Scholarships which are equal to the recipient’s tuition and fees for the fall and spring semesters.  The funds may be used for any college related expenses, such as housing, transportation, tuition, food, or books. (2 recipients)

  • In the 2nd year of study
  • Pursuing a degree in Math, Technology, Automotive, or any of the Sciences
  • Full or part time
  • Good academic standing
  • Financial Need is not necessary, but may be used for selection of the recipient

Firefighter/Auxiliary Member Scholarship

Award: $250 (1 Recipient)

Criteria:

  • Must be a Greene County Volunteer Firefighter, Junior Firefighter or Auxiliary member.
  • 1st year of college
  • Have financial need
  • GPA 2.3 or higher
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
  • Obtain a reference from the Fire Chief of the company to which the student belongs.

General Scholarships

Award: $600.00 (up to 10 scholarships)

Criteria:

  • Currently enrolled either full-time or part-time
  • Good academic standing

  • Can be either full or part-time student
  • Willing to participate in a photo for media purposes

History Scholarships

Human Services Scholarships

Award: $1,000 – Renewable for Spring Semester for $1,000 contingent upon the student remaining in good academic standing.

Criteria:

  • Must be in the 2nd year of the Human Services program
  • Career commitment to working with differently abled individuals
  • Full or part time

Military Scholarships

Nursing Scholarships

  • Demonstrate compassionate bedside manner

At the end of the fall semester the top 5 Greene County students from Nursing 101 and Nursing 201 receive $600. At the end of the following spring semester the top 5 Greene County nursing students in 102 receive $600.

  • Must commit to working at Columbia Memorial Health for a minimum of one year following graduation.

  • Non-traditional nursing student; 24 years or older
  • GPA of 2.67 or higher

Post-High School Scholarships

Award: Up to $1,600 dispersed across Fall and Spring Semester (1 recipient)

Criteria:

  • Scholarships will be awarded to students applying from high schools in Columbia and Greene counties, with a GPA OF 90% or higher, and from Red Hook High School living in Columbia County, with an average of 90% or higher.
  • The scholarship must be used for the fall semester immediately following the student’s high school graduation.  If you need to defer this scholarship for one semester, the decision to do so will be at the discretion of the board of directors of the Columbia-Greene Community Foundation.
  • Each semester the recipient must be officially enrolled for a minimum of 12 semester hours at Columbia-Greene Community College and be in attendance on the college’s census date.
  • Scholarship recipients must complete at least 12 semester hours of work at Columbia-Greene Community College with a minimum GPA of 2.50 during the first semester in order to continue eligibility.
  • The Presidential Scholarship will be renewed for sophomore students who have maintained a 3.25 GPA and completed at least 12 semester hours at Columbia-Greene Community College each semester.
  • Scholarship amounts will be $800 per semester. The High School students graduating number one or two in their class (valedictorian or salutatorian) are eligible for a scholarship in the amount of $1600, up to 17 credit hours per semester.
  •  Disciplinary sanction will cause the revocation of the scholarship.  A student may appeal for reinstatement of the scholarship when the sanction has been removed.
  • Presidential Scholarship recipients are required to attend Presidential Scholarship-related events. Events may include receptions, breakfasts, brunches, luncheons, or other similar programs.

Residential-based Scholarships

Award: $1,500 (1 recipient)

  • Greene County resident
  • Pursuing a career or continuing their education in the field of law or criminal justice
  • First or second year student
  • Full or part time

Award: $1,000 (1 recipient), or $500 (2 recipients)

Criteria:

  • Resident of Catskill
  • Completed 12 credits
  • Full or part time

Award: $1,000 (3 recipients)

Criteria:

  • Graduated from Taconic Hills School District, or
  • Reside in the Taconic Hills School District
  • Completed at least one semester at C-GCC
  • GPA 2.5 or higher

Award: $800 (2 recipients)

Criteria:

  • Resident of the Town of Catskill, which includes Leeds, Palenville, Kiskatom etc.
  • Business Administration student

Award: $1,000 (1 recipient), $500 (2 recipients)

  • GPA 3.0 or higher

  • Recommendation letter from a faculty member
  • Recommendation letter from a community (non-family) member

Award: $250 (1 recipient)

Purpose:

The purpose of the scholarship is to assist musicians, both young and young at heart, in their quest to achieve a higher understanding of musicianship and pedagogy.  This assistance may be used to secure material related to the further study of music or for the sake of study itself.  Priority will be given to applicants who intend to study the organ, wish to study the practice of liturgical (sacred) music, and/or are in preparation for a liturgical position within a sacred institution

Criteria:

  • Resident of Columbia, Greene, Dutchess or Ulster County
  • Be musically literate
  • Be prepared to perform an audition on the instrument of your choice, if requested
