Frequently Asked Questions
The Welcome Day events are an opportunity to visit and learn about campus, take care of business regarding necessary paperwork and account information, and have all necessary paperwork and important items completed before the semester starts. Attendance is optional but this productive three-hour event is worth attending.
Orientation, held on August 25, provides much more hands-on information regarding life as a student at CGCC. There will be specific academic sessions with faculty, opportunities to learn about free support services & resources available to students, and time with your classmates. Attendance at this event is strongly encouraged.
If your academic program (i.e.: Automotive Technology, Construction Technology, or Nursing) has a required training or orientation, you must attend that event as well. These specific events are for new students within a program and will review necessary safety items, course information, and other important things to those only in the program who must attend to start classes. If you are in an academic program with one of these events, you should attend both and communication will be sent to only students who have one to attend.
